Transgender amateur Lia Thomas loses weight and is out of the Olympics

The transgender state padadoraEpese Lia Thomas has asked the Swiss sports tribunal to overturn rules imposed by the World Aquatics International Federation that ban trans women from competing in women’s swimming events.

According to the Swiss court, the winner declared that the rules were “invalid and illegal” and that the discrimination could not be “justified as necessary, reasonable or proportionate to achieve a sporting objective.”

However, last Wednesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) made its decision to reject the transgender supporter’s case. CAS ruled that Lia Thomas is not eligible to challenge the World Aquatics rule that prohibits transgender supporters from participating in women’s competitions.

With the opposite decision, the athlete is banned from racing and is excluded from the Olympic Games.

The rule prohibits transgender people who have gone through male puberty from participating in women’s international competitions unless they have made the transition before the age of 12.
